A Song of Spring -Anacreontic Verse
a sea of yellow
waving daffodils
glint in the sunshine
and greet us on this
country road trip~
trees bedecked
in blossoms-
a soft riot
of colorful buds
and popping petals
occasionally
drifting lazily
to the lush verdant
grass carpet below...
as the sun
plays peek-a-boo
with drifting clouds-
the pitter patter
of raindrops
start slowly
but crescendo...
brief in nature~
(like spring itself)
until the showers
have nourished the earth
bringing hope
to the flowers
and to us -
Springtime Lovers~
a new Season
to love
