A Song of Good News

Let me share with you
a story of love
Of God's only Son
sent down from above
He came to free me
free me from all strife
He came to see me
see me get new life

The agony He bore
A crown of thorns He wore
Bled till the last red drop
From dark hell, me, to stop

Christ died on the cross
cruel Calvary
Suffered intense pain
to the nth degree
Redeemed me from death
from death He waived me
He gave me new breath
new breath that saved me

The agony He bore
A crown of thorns He wore
Bled till the last red drop
From dark hell, me, to stop

Buried in the tomb
rose on the third day
He will come again
To take me away
To heaven, I will rise
Will rise to meet Him
In the open skies
'pen skies to greet Him

The agony He bore
A crown of thorns He wore
Bled till the last red drop
From dark hell, me, to stop

BRIDGE:
How can I be silent?
Christ died for you and me
For us, He was God-sent
Accept Him, this my plea...

The agony He bore
A crown of thorns He wore
Bled till the last red drop
From dark hell, me, to stop

Jesus bled for you... And me...

When we contemplate what Jesus went through, how can we not love such a savior. When I realized the tears that must have fallen, that got to me too! Congrats on your top placement and God bless!

It's a shame many turn their backs on his teachings Joanna, this would be lovely put to music like a hymn. Enjoy your weekend. Tom

Nice refrain, Joanna! Love the phrasing, “ Suffered intense pain to the nth degree.” That he did. At some point, it occurred to me that Christ had tears, that he wept…that was heart-wrenching in itself. So many layers… Gid bless!
