A Soldier's Song

“A Soldier’s Song”

I was traveling on this road
I didn’t know were I was going or which way to go
But then I saw this man who was all alone
He told me eventually ill make it home
He showed me so much love
I knew then it was God above
That’s why now I can say I’m home

I’m going home were I know best
I’m going home to complete my test
To were I can be made whole
Take back everything the devil stole
I’m going home were there is happiness
I’m going home
I’m going home
I’m going home

When I get back home I’m going to try my best
To praise and shout because I’m never a guest
Meeting all my friends when I walk in
Putting on your Glory
Throwing away all my sin
You showed me so much love
I knew it was from far above
That’s why now I can say I’m home

Just imagine how far I was away
I never imagined this will be the day
I would receive my medal of honor
I came home to be my children father
I’m home
I’m home
I am Home

Your poem comes alive within the reader's heart as the story unfolds gently before us. This poetic trip though the heart is, thought provoking, descriptive, and creative all rolled up into a beautiful feel good poem. Well written. Emile.
