A Soldier's Nightmare
He's afraid to close his eyes for he might not awaken. The bodies he has seen was no sensation. He close his ears from the sound of loud noise, the bombing around him and the killing of young boys. All the good memories seems washed away the war memories is all that's in the way. Hurt and pain his body has endured left a hole in his soul that only God can cure. His hands shake his eyes stare a living soldier brought home a nightmare. The friends he laughed with and told many jokes are dead and their families left with no hope. Oh how he cries those long nights and days the depression and nightmare he took to his grave. He couldn't bear it anymore his wounds were so deep now he sleeps not counting sheep's. For he may rest now and have those good dreams for God has his soul now he can rest in peace.
