A Snake In My House

i welcomed you into my life, into my life.
not aware that i would soon turn into your victim.
the constant persistence
always wanting things to go your way.
soon turned me into your punching bag whenever i disputed.
i worked very hard for our betterment.
you felt inferior.
and had to constantly hurt me so you would feel like 'the big guy'
your smooth tongue and recurring beatings
forced me to submit to you.
at the expense of my life unfortunately.
