A Slate State of Mind

Cobalt stained whispers dye darkly indigo the iris of my mind as my dulled lapis essence drowns in deeper depths of navy - dragged down by steely emotions Beyond my grasp is the ultramarine humility of the Virgin Mary’s robes - I am lost to the impure algae of this midnight abyss Gone is the denim scab that patched my soul - cast with the spindrift of tiffany dreams -- jaded, I sink into afterlife protected by my Egyptian prayers Susan Ashley July 14, 2018 (13 shades of blue used) *Egyptian blue was often used in tomb paintings and funereal objects to protect the dead in their afterlife.* - Source: Wikipedia; Blue

Hi Susan, a most creatively, beautiful write from your pen. Your pen excells in this excellent piece. Egypt, one of my favourite ancients. Comes the dawn of life as one floats down the Nile on the final journey. Beauty in words that touch the soul Susan. A fave. have a wonderful end to your Thursday. Hugs....Mike. XX

Your words graphically take the reader to your private place where sanity can drift and unravel. An outpouring of emotions that surges up from the heart and splashes against the page in shades of blue. Well done my friend, Emile.

Color this write, uh, SUSAN ASHLEY! I think that you, young lady, are a new, exciting shade of blue! … (not) speaking of which, I am about to take a lengthy break from P.S., … may or may not return, … the Muse has most definitely moved on, … So, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all of your encouragement, your gracious comments, your brilliance, your wit, your dedication to the craft, … but most of all, for just being YOU! Best wishes, always, my friend. ~ Gershon

My friend, I join my dear friend Susan in her -Say it ain't so- comment. Both you and your poetry will be missed if you leave and do not return. I am always saddened when poets such as you chose to lave this site. Yet I also truly respect the right to do so if one desires...
