A Siren's Fancy
Twilight dreams lead me to a mystic place
Where Sirens alight on wings of gemmed threads
As fair Teles allures till harps ignite
On waters foiled above lush ocean-beds
Sunken caves line the tides where men yield
To fluid hums trilling like drops so gold
I pivot around feathered limbs varnished
With aquatic splash of murmurs untold
Gliding on trails adorned with rare corals
Attractive nymphs bathe on the shore to play
While laughter ripples grinding their curved hips
Before darkness finds a male to betray
I gaze and absorb this exotic scene
Recalling my claim, sea maiden of night
A fancy that beguiles my hours’ wonder
Never to appear again in hindsight.
Siren-- A sea nymph with the upper body of a woman
and winged, bird-like lower body.
