A Single Howl

A single howl,
a single cry.
And the dark sets in.
All are silent,
not a sound.
A heart has stopped.
Not a one moves,
for none can.
Then they fall.
But can they rise again,
knowing they lost.
A single cry,
a single howl.
And the world is dark,
