A Simple Reason Why

Since we as individuals are so incomprehensible
And our living world so extensive
Because nothing is ever infinite
With our poetry a means to caress and capture
That which is beyond our grasp
Since we are prominent only within ourselves
Human and limited in design
Because there is truly no basis or reason
Devoid of suggestion
Humanity’s veracity is a flawed forgiveness
Of you and I and we
The touch of absolution at dusk
