A Simple Prayer

Lord, I've come a long ways today
Got further yet to go
I know You're ridin' with me now
Somehow I know it's so

I like to think I see Your face 
In every water hole
An' feel Your arms on my shoulder
When that north wind blows cold

I pray that You will keep me safe
From danger tomorrow
Keep my loved ones in Your embrace
Spare us all from sorrow

Lord I sensed You were tired today
Ride the Paint in the morn
Don't choose that knucklehead Buckskin
He'll throw You in the thorn
