A Simple Plea
This hypocrisy we call democracy
Is a lie you see
to make you think you're free.
Authority, conformity,
See the lie for it's enormity.
Play by the rules and live as fools
Just docile tools of this society
Ruled by greed and kept in poverty.
The willing victims of wage slavery
Are yearning for a life of luxury
And find contentment an impossibility
On an endless treadmill of futility
Exhausting all of their vitality.
But there is a path to tranquility
Found when living in simplicity
Seek to find your sovereignty
By withdrawing from the insanity.
Participation means that you agree
To live in economic fealty.
So lose the car and the foul TV
Stop buying things that you don't really need
End the stroking of your vanity
And demand a halt to inequality.
We all descend from the same family tree
Let's create a world for you and me.
