A Simple Feel-Good Nod

How sweet are the messages of affirmation,
Enhancing our self-image when we are down
Often providing reason for contemplation,
But should not be worn like a golden crown.
To give someone else a simple feel-good nod
Elevates the spirits of both giver and receiver,
Now and then, everyone deserves that laud
Being noticed for being a creative achiever.

Affirmation gives a special boost to the poet
For most poets are their own harshest critics,
And if we do not give them the praise of merit
How can they know we appreciate their lyrics?
When we feel good about a poem, let’s share it
For we all hope our works will a notice inherit.

L Milton Hankins July 23, 2022 at 9:10 AM I spend about two or three hours every day just reading and commenting. Probably more time than I ought to, for it takes time from writing, but I do manage to get some done every day, and that is what matters.
