A Silent Yearning

What am I to this forsaken world? What am I to be, to be yours? I’m just a long-lost soul, Seeking a remedy, yearning for a cure. Not bound to another, yet longing to be, Hold me close, love, don’t set me free. Like a leaf on the wind, with no direction known, Without purpose, forever overthrown. My soul is worn, my heart is weak, Hunting for love, for the word that speaks. In the quiet, I hear your voice— A whisper in the darkness, a heartfelt choice. Hold me close, and never let me go, I need your love to make my heart whole. Tired of being alone, of wandering free, I need someone to anchor me. In the shadows, I'll find my way, To a love that's been waiting night and day. My heart beats slow, my soul feels old, But with you, my love, I'll never grow cold. Through the tears, I'll find my smile, With all the chaos, I'll face the trial. My heart may break, but I’ll never fall— I’ll gather all the fragments of my soul.
