A Silent Prayer

Could a mute voice speak louder then a million crushed tongues? Could one fly like an angel when their wings are chains? When the air is filled with poison, will we ever breath with our lungs? Is there a radiance awaiting after this fog-infested world? Are human bones that are clothed by deceased skin pushing their way to heaven or hell? Is the blood we bleed scarlet ink that illustrates the goodbyes we hurled? Are our dirt-covered bodies meant to paint our sins? Humanity needs an answer to our silent prayers. Grant our souls the life we have hungered for before our slumber begins. ~ Date: 3/4/2019 Contest: Pick A Title - Free Verse Poetry Contest Title Chosen: A Silent Prayer Sponsor: Edward Ibeh ~
