A Silent Abcderian

Aesthetically speaking, letters can find
Subtle intents within words where they hide
Muscles nor scissors can peel them away
Wednesdays without them would be just a day
Give grace to these letters who've committed no crimes
Fifth is the plea of all letters sometimes
Assign them no fault for shying from fame
Honor their honest request to remain
Socially distant at business events
Hallelujahs replacing their unseen laments
Knitting our language like sewing machines
Half of their work remains largely unseen
Mnemonics, chemistry, music and math
Solemnly force them to do more than they’ve asked
Enough is enough, give them all time to breathe
Psalmists and poets can offer reprieve
Lacquer gives rest to a “q” overworked
February, though? That “r” is a jerk!
Islands are places for “s” to lie back
Ballet in castles, where “t” can relax
Laughter, where “u” can escape from our ears
Voila! Magically “v” sometimes disappears
Wrongly accused are the letters unheard
Faux pas to speak them aloud in a word
Rhythmless would language feel without these
Rendezvous with the letters that walk silently

Not a classic abcedarian poem where the first letter of each line is a consecutive letter of the alphabet, however, the first word of each line contains a silent letter as the lines proceed from A-Z.
For fun, some lines have multiple instances.

I love the way you have worked your way through the alphabet for this one Jesse 😄 wonderfully presented... and, I would never have thought of "rendezvous" for the letter "Z" so brilliant for bringing forth this word! 👏😄 A lovely, light hearted, fun read. Thank you for entering the contest. 😉⭐️

Fifth - Pleading the fifth in America refers to the Fifth Amendment (of the U.S. Constitution) which guarantees your right to silence so you don't incriminate yourself. Voila - Although usually pronounced with the V, some pronunciations are Wa-Lah... so 'sometimes' it magically disappears.
