A Shrinking Culture

The forest was shrinking
But the trees kept 
Voting for the axe
For the axe was cleaver 
And convinced the trees
That because his handle 
Was made of wood
He was one of them
And they bought his story
And they believed him
But the time the trees realized
The axe has destroyed them all
