A Show Piece

A show piece, delicate
Was hanging on the wall.
A leaf with a button on it.
Delicate, intricate, gorgeous, he thought.

He was waiting , in the living room,
Cold tea was served, with a cold waiting time
His appearance was not noteworthy
Still, he was waiting there, patiently.

At last, he was told, he could not see her today
She was not feeling well, she was extremely sorry for that.
Before leaving, he was looking back at that piece again
An intricate leaf glued with an ordinary button, round shaped.

“A button will serve for the day today!”He uttered, capturing the leaf, on his mind.
