A Short Question

Joe you can be so annoying
In the line you keep repeating
I don’t know, perhaps
It’s just because

The World has its reasons
People have their habits
I don’t know, perhaps
It’s just because.

Stars glisten above us
Shooting stars flash by
I don’t know, perhaps
It’s just because

But the question you ask
Is a desire to seek a reason
It’s a blessing from which we all should learn

Let not a stone stand still
Or a word be spoken
Without the innocence, desire
And the endless question WHY?

Why, the simplest of childish questions is the question we all need to ask today ..... the child within us always seeks to learn and not take things for granted

This is not bad. The end brings the poem together. When one is reading one wonders where this is leading and then we see the word, "why" and all comes clear. Good effort! Luis Estable
