A Shooting Star...

A shooting star, sweet love of mine,
May travel skies so deep and blue,
But touch me not like hands of thine,
Caress me now if love were true.

Pick me a rose of petals white,
So sweet a kiss its velvet give,
Dear, love me kind throughout the night,
Still whisper soft, the trees they live.

Oh, dancing grasses’ graceful gift,
So soft a bed in breeze and scent,
One deepened breath, earth’s spirits lift,
Our secret’s kept with wise intent.

Caress me love if love were true,
And touch me with great hands of thine,
I’ll soar through space alongside you,
A shooting star, sweet love of mine.
