A Shimmer of Fireflies
shimmer of fireflies drifts through dusk,
tiny lanterns weaving spells in the dark.
They flirt with the edges of shadows,
tracing invisible constellations
on the canvas of night.
Each glow pulses like a whispered secret,
a Morse code of summer’s heartbeat.
They gather in clusters,
a ballet of sparks
swaying with the sigh of the breeze.
The world beneath barely notices,
but the shimmer knows its own magic
a living constellation,
an orchestra of light,
each flicker a note in the song of the dark.
And if you pause,
just long enough to look,
you might feel the hush of their language,
the quiet poetry
that only a shimmer of fireflies can speak.
Message to Readers
This poem is my invitation to notice the small wonders of the world. Even the tiniest lights like a " shimmer of fireflies " can teach us that beauty, connection, and magic exist everywhere, if we only pause to see it.
