A shimmer in the void

I heard a silent cry
of deep anguish
empathy made the pain mine
but I was immune
being formless like space
so I remained still
and offered my heart
radiating love
which could instantly heal
but love employs no force
and so must be received
imbibed and assimilated
for the magic to work
so as life turned a page
maybe the flower blossoms
or maybe it withers
are outcomes for God to see
