A poem that is never carved Silently lingers on my nerves. A melody that's never sung Hangs inside in my mind and tongue. A faded letter, tucked away, Lies unread by dawn and by day. A whispered dream, a hidden plea, Is meant but for the heart to see. A silent promise, barely made, In the shadows is safely laid. It lives inside, a tiny spark, Safeguarded from the judging dark. Though prying eyes may try to see, This buried truth will stay with me. This fragile trust, I vow to keep, Within my own heart, buried deep. For some secrets shared lose their grace And shatter in an empty space. So I will guard this precious art, Locked safely in my beating heart. Let it rest as a private grace, A smile upon my shining face.
