A Second Stream
Our earthly love
completed its course.
What started from
a sudden spring
rushed
eroding land
and loose rock
straightening the way
with force.
It could have gone much smoother
had I known upstream
what I know
down:
Gravity
takes care of everything,
though the damage
is part of the flow.
I thought all would end
in a trickle,
but you left me here
wading.
