A Schizophrenic's Cycle

they said to throw away all of Their sweet-nothings. They didn't mean them anyway. they said not to trust Them. They were out to make you pay with torturous acts. they said They really didn't care about you. They wanted to butcher your heart of hearts. they said you should retaliate -- maim their bodies and minds. your head ached. it felt the way a vise would feel around the eyes and forehead. . . tightening. . . making the lightning flash -- it seemed -- under, around and through your eyes. they were quiet while you were hurting, before the pain ebbed to a stop. they said sometimes you could be headstrong. they said you didn't always listen to everything they said. sometimes you think they could be your friends.
