A Scene From Our City

Loud music
         and lights on a bridge
  cut into my consciousness
Another city evening has come
   The heat of the midsummer
afternoon
     has gone away
bringing the night people into focus
A demi - monde in the heart of the metropolis
Wanton women, drunken men and
all the bars are open
I stay inside and miss the "action"
    Utilizing my pen
I free myself from the dark urban scenario
Creativity is a gift to all concernted
    Pleasure comes
to those who dare to express
their innermost feelings
and through the magic of words
        touch the souls
of kindred spirits

i'm sure you've touched many souls with your magic words. i like the fact that even when you stay inside, the sounds of the city float in anyway, so you're still a part of it.
