A Scary Flight
“A scary flight”
It was a cold and dark rainy night.
They said you had only a few hour's before your flight.
I knew exactly where you were headed.
That was one night that I truly dreaded.
I guess I wasn’t quite ready for you to leave.
Or maybe I wasn’t ready to grieve.
What ever the reason I wished you could have stayed longer.
As I watched you lay there I knew I had to be stronger.
Many thoughts and worries were running through my mind.
I searched and searched but not one secure answer did I find.
I knew I couldn’t question him and there wasn’t a thing I could do.
I touched your forehead your temperature was terribly cool.
The night grew more quiet as the machine’s started to beep.
As I glanced at you, you looked so peaceful as if you were sleep.
I wish I could have delayed or even stopped your flight.
But it was then and there that you went to heaven on that rainy night.
