A Sailor's Solace
Before too long my darling
you'll be lacing down your boots;
You'll come walking through this front door
And find solace in your roots.
All this love will find you
and the hurt will slip away
And then before you know it,
it'll be just another day.
Laughter will fall across your face
and friends will seek your presence;
Life will come full circle
and you'll laugh at this depression.
That steel home you are riding
with its bells and rock and rolling
Is a temporary resting spot
for the boy that's always going.
Soon you'll untie those laces;
you'll rest your head upon this home,
and never for one second
will you ever feel alone.
