A Romantic Overture

i deliberated
an entrapment,
designed specifically,
and only, for me

and somewhere
along the way
the gears stop winding
tired of rotating

overtaken
by mists of different colors
my trap evolved
into a maze i must solve

"i'd win it against time,"
tracing the walls
with my left hand,
wishing the exit i'd find

truth is pain,
the exit's an illusion
and i would love,
to instantly give up

so come on,
step over here
give me my break
be my escape
