A Role Given

It has been long days and stormy nights
Battle ground stations
were music played
a light
Guided the way

Sleepless nights how did I stay
as the mask fell to the ground
off their face
Who were these people

Turned out they were fake
smile in the face of the one who gave
without a word
took shots to keep to teach them to live

still was lured
how deep was the water
took on the dive
with equipment to breathe
hurt and pain kept me alive

take me take me please
why me
was the end of the tests
lessons learned

a reward given
after all of this mess
it helped me to mature
grew from a seed

now
the moment to bloom
soon was taking so long
all the wars helped to groom

scars
were all my own
to accept my role
to be picked on and chose

now I know why we entered without
shoes and clothes
material things let go
with no waiting

the role was given
uncovered it was about patience
