Notes About The Poem

A Robin In a Pear Tree

robin’s olfactory serves not
        the stinky pear tree —
Spring blossoms like a bride
        fishy-catch of the day

You have described one of the coming of spring's descriptions quite well in this short, but sweet write.

A Bradford pear tree is pretty but also smelly. We have them here. Thanks, Anne-Lise :)

I have never tried to get a whiff of pear blossom. I might better see what they do smell like while they are in bloom. The Bradford pears(the blossoming ones not a fruit bearer) are in full bloom right now here in my neck of the woods. Your visits to my page delightful. Sara
