A Redundancy of Negativity

I've grown quite weary of negative poems full of sarcasms It's true we're separated on many issues by deep chasms We see things differently; shades of gray, black and white but please stop demeaning others when critically some write about government and vaccines as if you're having spasms? Stop accusing people of wanting to live in an ivory tower What are you hungry for? Do you seek recognition or power? Freedom still exists in America, but if you don't agree say goodbye to her shores and come face to face with reality. Negativity breeds doom and gloom from voices that are sour. Write of the beauty of Nature, or the good things people do There's no need to harp on and on. It's redundant to boo hoo. If writing about politics and religion ruffles feathers of peers, focus on something else. All you have to do is change gears. Writing positive poetry is a goal I ardently hope we will pursue.

Ops, I might add when I come here to post a few, is because a some emailed me for this and that reason, even on a site such as this, positive people find each other. (and that doesn't mean they agree on all things) Either way I enjoy your writings!

Very nice message, now for my confession, I am as guilty as anyone, I post on current events and that's not positive to start, however, I will add this, I have been here since 2012, I have never found a more negative site than here. I have met so many lovely poets here, Jan is one, but most have moved on to places where the negative is not the norm. I have no answers, I am curious in fact how this happens.

I've confessed to not always being able to turn the other cheek, too, Arthur, but picking our battles wisely is the best solution. You know you can't fix stupid.

You turned a very negative situation, into a positive poem here Jenna, I think most of us get the message, A little diversity is what's needed, not just nagging on and on with the same old mantra, cheers David

It's not always to ignore those who write such negative lines, and I haven't always been able to do that, but nothing good is served by arguing points that each see as factual. Thanks, David.

I couldn't agree more, Jenna. I, too, have been reading a lot of negativity these days. Anyway, I realize I succumb from time to time, too. Jenna, your poem is so well-written and so appropriate. I think it should be a P.O.T.D.! We all need to promote positivity.

Every poet needs to refrain from penning their negative thoughts, Milt. I include myself. It's been months of tit for tat with no end in sight. I have my beliefs, and others have theirs, but there is nothing proven OR gained by being argumentative over them. I cannot receive a potd again so soon, but I appreciate your sentiment.
