A Red Hot Summers Day
Here we are sitting down
on holiday on a very sunny day
it's really hot in front of town hall
reaching up to 27c not at all grey
The pigeons eating all their seeds
pecking away at every little divide
between the stone slabs, they see
following each other with pride
The town clock rises way up top
to be seen from all parts of town
so no one can miss the time
then you know when to stop shop
Folk walking about in their shorts
sunglasses are seen on everyone
looking up at the bright blue sky
total enjoyment is so much fun
Would we like this all year long?
in the hot stuff from dusk to dawn
we would be crying out for water
wishing we were far more strong!
(Just some thought last week on holiday at Southport in England enjoying the sunshine.)
