A Red Hot Summers Day

Here we are sitting down on holiday on a very sunny day it's really hot in front of town hall reaching up to 27c not at all grey The pigeons eating all their seeds pecking away at every little divide between the stone slabs, they see following each other with pride The town clock rises way up top to be seen from all parts of town so no one can miss the time then you know when to stop shop Folk walking about in their shorts sunglasses are seen on everyone looking up at the bright blue sky total enjoyment is so much fun Would we like this all year long? in the hot stuff from dusk to dawn we would be crying out for water wishing we were far more strong! (Just some thought last week on holiday at Southport in England enjoying the sunshine.)

Good Morning Gordon. Yes, the climate for everyone has been over the top hot humid dry and more. I for one am looking forward to autumn. I found your ending stanza to sum up and complete the entry and your thoughts. Thank you for sharing your poetic talent. May today be all that it can be and may better weather be ahead for all corners of the world. Blessings always (smile)

Your poem is intriguing Gordon. Sounds like a happy Holiday. I smiled when you mentioned 27 C degrees. Here in Aussie land its not that unusual for it to reach 41 C degrees in the middle of summer. You had better visit us in the Winter months. 24 C degrees here middle of winter. Enjoyed your poem very much. have fun on your holiday. Cheers SV
