A Ray of Hope

Deep beneath this cover of mortality
There are flicker demons battling with me
They wait patiently for my impuissant side
But a fighter stands on the wings of evil
Once held back by a taunting past
Of abuse and disregard
Hidden away waits a torrid woman
Of fluid flesh and bone
Heart and soul
Rendering love and kindness
With a lasting yearning to succeed
Now the wounds have since long ago healed
But their affects periodical linger
I have learned much from my own pain
And the strength and courage I’ve acquired instill radiance
That will radiate in my light of hope

Right on Ms. Laura!! They say that pain is the touchstone to spiritual growth but if that were the case I'd have my wings now ... LOL ... congratulations on your wonderful writing being a winner in or out of a contest ... smile ...

May your light of hope shine brilliant and steady, so you overcome completely the darkness. May it light your way to a beautiful path ahead. Happiness and peace for you dear Laura in 2009. Love, Shar

Yes, Light does overcome all darkness. I am so sorry you were abused as a child. It must be a very traumatic experience. It is a sad sad thing to happen to anyone but more so to an innocent child. I pray that you can forgive and eventually forget. It takes time I know but Jesus heals. Love and blessings.

I relate a lot...a lot....to this piece! I know so well this 'other side' and how only the healing side of soul (with all it's love) can give hope to the mind. Beautiful. Love, Sara:)
