A Rain-Drought

There is light but darkness
It is cold but hot
Send down the rain
Because, it is wet but dusty.

It is sunrise but sunsets
It is winter but summer
Send down the rain
Because, it is damp but dry.

Clouds overshadow the sun
Darkness overwhelms the moon
Send down the rain
Because, it is low tide.

There is lamentation
People are wailing and weeping
Send down the rain
Because, no stone on another.

They sob but who condole
Men yell but who console
Send down the rain
Because, it is time to re-erect.
