A Question of Faith

I find myself living in the here and now
but sometimes wondering why and how.
My heart seeks answers to quench my thirst
I wonder what is it that I must do first
to find faith in the unknown, should I bow?

Scripture reveals that in me His light will glow
so vibrantly that at last my soul will know
His presence is felt as a sanctuary, a haven
with spiritual answers my heart's been craving
My belief in Him will like a stream then flow.

Should my search lead me to waters of the sea?
Will I feel His Chakra swelling deep inside of me?
His presence is found everywhere, I've been told
I yearn for His grace and warmth as one of his fold
Then, in my soul I shall feel peace and tranquility.

Should I focus on praying to the One who has clout?
Could be speaking directly to him will erase my doubt
Reading the words of the Bible might help me find
answers I seek but to which I've had a closed mind
It's devotion I need to end my spiritual drought.

In His living waters I'll know the bliss of the blessed
My thirst sated after doubts have been confessed
I will be cleansed with awareness, immersed in purity
for having God's holy countenance will set me free
and at last I will have reached the end of my quest.

Hi Lin...while I am in the third group you mention below to Ink, I love the poem. In the end, if we can come to grips with the meaning of existence, we do become much happier as a result. You are a great voice for love and kindness and what brings us there. Hope you are well and sending a broad smile!!

I respect your group as much as I do the other two, Duke. Life takes us on journeys, even when it's not a journey we seek. Thank you for such fine compliments... as ever.

Omg this is so moving dear linnersz, You are getting better and better in writing these spiritually stirring poems ~ I once read in one of the philosophical poems by Justin Bordner here on soup “ faith is found in the unknown” and it stayed with me and today i read in your poem “to find faith in the unknown, should I bow?” Wow! He should read this poem! Linnersz, your skills in weaving words is just touching and impressive because You are one fine attractive poetess ;) your poetry would move mountains! :* Pleasure reading you today ~ Sending you light always

Dear sweet Ink, you are always making comments that bring a smile to my lips. Faith is not something to take lightly. We either have it, desire it, or remain a nonchalant unbeliever. I humbly thank you for your sincere compliments and the light you shine on my poetry and our friendship.

Ah the end of my quest.. the soul-searching depth here really made me reflect deep within myself! Very rightly you've said, they say, His presence is always found within the soul.. I've been on this journey myself ~ questing for the truths of life, the cause, the reason and everything beyond ~ and it always leads me closer to myself and God...such beautiful, moving and thought-provoking words you've inked here, dear Lin, such a pleasure to read you always, sending light and best wishes ~

We're a curious species, always looking for the truth and answers, could it be what we seek is all around us and we just haven't realised it. Great writing Lin, good luck and enjoy your weekend. Tom

We certainly are a weird lot, Tom. Some narrow minded not to accept the truth and some too blind to realize it’s to be found within them. Thanks for the good luck wishes.
