A Quartered Moon

A quartered moon tortures the chill earth
tempts the night things. Thinning shadows
glide through the hoary mist, shiver
in a distant fear of Sun's rise.

This is hauntingly alluring - is it for the Poe contest?

Yep, Poe hooked me in high school so any opportunity to play like Poe is muses dream.

I love it John. I like the phrase,"tempts night things"

I always sort of thought of the moon as the temptress of the tormented night creatures. Thanks for stopping by Daniel.
