A Push In My Pen

There's a push in my pen
   a coax in my keyboard
A prod 'cross my fingers
   a poke 'top my brain

Each sentence hides muscles
   nudging stanzas to bustle
One poem's done, here comes the next
press down on the keys, produce the text

Sometimes it’s hard to keep pace with one’s own thoughts, but how much better is that than when you and your inspiration seem to speak different languages. Keep tapping those keys Gershon. Terry

Grit the teeth and start and continue, with or without the impelling vision or the engulfing emotion....that is how it is (probably) most often done, indeed! You have transmitted the experience in a way that requires no detailed explanation. I like your poem.

Good one Gershon! ~ When the words in your mind form, do you rush to find paper and pen. Or do you prefer the keyboard and let your fingers fly over them. Either way poet, get those words out of your head, then the people will read them, poetry is meant to be read… Belle

Aha! Now I see! Milton uses an inkwell whereas you use a keyboard!

I know that feeling so well, g.w. I wake up in the middle of the night with rhymes in my head. I drive down the street trying to find a rhyme. Sometimes I give up and resort to free verse. push, push, push! My muses never let up.

Ohh Great! You're on a roll with the inspiration. Love it when that happens but lately it hasn't happened much. Good job. Write On! God Bless, JB

As I usually say, 98.6% perspiration. 1% inspiration, 0.4% bird you-know-what landing squarely on my head waiting for inspiration. And so it goes... Thanks JCB. Very kind of you. :) gw
