Great irony there, Kim: 'The peace pipe signaling W-A-R.' George Orwell was right: War is Peace... btw: Always thought he should have changed his surname to 'Warwell.' lol.

Super poem Kim, love your description of FDR, it’s funny but definitely him, the war itself was forced upon the US and they certainly evened the score, and brought it to a swift but necessary end, pity the man himself didn’t get to see it, cheers David

Kim, cigarette holder and peace pipe all in one. You've honored FDR and the pun in line two is quite funny. Spinning wheels also convey his condition. This is a wonderful poem!!!

Dear Kim, Your poem is both thought-provoking and impactful. I love how you've woven together elements of politics and history with concise language. The juxtaposition of FDR's cigarette holder and the events of Pearl Harbor is particularly striking—it captures the complexity and gravity of those moments in time. I love how your words evoke a sense of urgency and reflect the weighty decisions and consequences shaping our world. Keep on writing, Kim—you have a talent for capturing the essence of pivotal moments in history. - Blessings, My Friend, Daniel
