a prickly pair
Pins and needles sewn across the bed
In threads of yellow-brown and rosy red
Stitched across my sheets, embroidered to my bed and pillow
Eye to eye with pins and needles, a prickly pair
Pinned to my bed and pillow, they lay bare
The prickly pair, they stare and glare
Their eyes, like needles, pierce the air
Embroidered to my bed and pillow,
They’re always there, a constant thrill-o
The needles, they whisper in the night
Their sharpness, a constant fright
The pins, they gleam in the moonlight
Their presence, a constant blight
The prickly pair, they never sleep
Their vigilance, a constant keep
Embroidered to my bed and pillow,
They’re always there, a constant billow.
