A Preamble

You met a man who said to you, "You are the most beautiful woman He has ever met”. You *whispered into my ears, "You felt sensations into your breasts", I met an *eloquent well dressed woman Walking with *splendor in *lavender color In *lilting stride giving a feeling of *tranquility *Wafting in *fragrant Bocheron perfume Who said to me, "She loves my skin the most", She uttered in such* dulcet & harmonious breath I had the same sensations as you . Is it humour in emotional chaos To be remembered in tranquility? Were they the pointers- a preamble? For us to be driven together in *bliss?

To quote Ezra Pound, this is "verse not interesting enough as verse to warrant so much of it". That being said, the last four lines are brilliant. I didn't think James Thurber could have spoken about humor more eloquently, but you have managed to improve upon excellence. Take your final stanza and start anew.

"Is it humour in emotional chaos to be remembered in tranquility? This is a puzzling question, Dr. One agrees with the other only through detachment. Few have that power. I will think long and hard on this poem. Love, daver
