A Prayer For Him

He was once strong and trim
with much ahead for him
but now I feel my heart sink!

His quality of life
and future with his wife
are harmed by his love of drink.

I pray he’ll reinvent
himself and thus prevent
dear life ending in a blink.

Andrea, my children don`t drink. Children of an alcoholic usually don`t drink. But they have other problems. They are shy, secretive and insecure . I blame myself every single day for letting their father ruin their lives. I am also aware that it is my fault as well. Alcohol is the destroyer of families. Please, give your son the book by Jack London, `King Alcohol`. And don`t give up fighting. I`ll pray for him.

As one who has lived with such a person, I really understand your prayer. I have prayed many times, but his love of drink was stronger than his love of me.
