A Portrait On the Wall
My father is a Christmas tree-
My mom, a silver ball.
I'm merely a portrait
Hanging on the wall.
But, my eyes see clearly
Father standing tall and strong
Holding fragile Mother dearly,
Whispering, "It won't be long
Until we see our brave son
Who died tragically that day
In a war unwon
By his beloved USA."
