A Portrait of Autumn

A Portrait of Autumn Beautiful the dying leaves As they fall from autumn trees Thick across the fertile ground And as the wind blows them around Beautiful the changing land Captured like no canvas can A song that’s sung since times of old Brown and yellow, red and gold Beautiful the fading lights The silver glow of moonlit nights The twinkling of starry skies And Mother Nature’s lullabies Beautiful the simple smile Of a healthy sleeping child Deep within an autumn dream Of trick or treat and Halloween
