A PORTAL TO HELL

A PORTAL TO HELL I was leery as I approached that gate Rusted iron, painted over with black Behind it I saw a jewel encrusted sky Yet if a portal to Hell, did I just die But I heard someone mutter nearby A low voice warned me to stay back I just saw a shadow, and so I’ll wait

What a hanging twist! I'd have hied it out of there, not looking back. Great poem on death and the odd circumstances that sometimes prevails therein. Heard voices this AM as I was quoting scripture - not as loud as the music that floated through the vents in my livingroom last year. PS: Congratulations, great provoker of thoughts.
