A pond, a distance
England carries her beyond
I failed my mission
To grasp her arm for my heart
Her beauty compares to none

It reminds me of love sonnet, only done in tanka form. Thanks for the read, Russell.

I've never been to England, Russell, but when I see the Queen or hear anything by Elgar, shivers go up and down my spine. Love your poem. And, Happy New Year back atcha. daver
