I want to sing like the birds sing, NOT worrying about who hears or what they think." ~ Rumi And so, it is penned with each poetic verse I write~ I become a nightingale trilling in the dark of night A mourning dove, tenderly crying for a lost soul Spring's first robin, tempting a worm from its hole I'm a warbler, a thrush with songs that need singing A swallow in Capistrano, north with my flock, winging Hummingbird searching for sweet nectar to drink Ebony raven whose observant eye can give you a wink I'm a wee sparrow but my voice demands to be heard I know the lyrics to sing for I've memorized each word I'm part of an avian chorus crooning like a symphony Musically arranged for our voices in harmonic polyphony

I found a comfortable chair and let the sounds and rythms of this exquisite poem wash over me...inspired writing Lin. Birds often sing of those things we ourselves would like to express in song...they do it better. Though, this one rivals their best. Left a note of joy....thankyou dear Lin.

Much polyphony in your words Lin, no cacophony here, only a very musical and cleverly written poem, something obviously triggered this one into existence, a beautiful conceptual piece, Cheers David

It's become a morning ritual for me to open my window before moon and sun trade places. It's that pre-dawn time when birds seem to be auditioning for the chorus and it's such an interlude between time and song that I value those special moments. Thank you, David.

what a delightful poem Lin and the image is perfect, oh for a harmonious life but we have to be wary of the buzzards circling overheads. hugs Jan xx

Thank you, Jan. Let them circle overhead. It's if they land that we take aim.

Lin, you picked a wonderful subject to illustrate how there are many ways to express views. You point out they can be harmonious too. Birds are amazing as are the poets who write about them! Smiles!!!

awww what a sweet comment, Duke. We've lots to learn from nature, but the human race pays too little attention to the harmony found there. Thanks so much for your kind words.
