A Political Romance

Love, when I met you, I had no reason to smile anymore Your eyes turned my visage vibrant and my desire into an outpour. And yet my heart felt heavy and sore - Because you could never love me. Like an angel you were, Like a glowing star, Yet you were so far. Yet I begged for us to be together. But I knew we never would - Because you could never love me. Baby, how I wished for you call out my name! It was all so bizarre .... All I knew was infatuation for you. And I felt my intuition was so true. I fantasized you'd take me away, make me fly! I wanted you to take the chance, let your pride die. For you to say you loved me, I thought I'd never know angst again. But I knew my passion would never be set free. Because you could never love me.
