We abandoned our homes and friends for fear
of brutal gangs pushing drugs and firearms.
And we took months to reach the US border;
where ICE agents yanked my child from my arms.
No amount of begging would deter them;
I'm handcuffed, and my child's taken away.
Zero tolerance means there's no trial;
where a judge decides if we get to stay.
They refused to say where they sent my boy;
citing all illegals will get bussed back.
And it would be up to me to find him;
proclaiming it wasn't their job to keep track.
Please, God, I beg you, help me find my boy,
don't let him be a political ploy.
