A Poets Voice
A POETS PERSPECTIVE
i find it amazing
how we transform
our mind to thought
to creative energy
allowing our tongues
to speak
our ears to hear
and the formation
of words
to bring forth
birth
from songs to books
to the internal
memory banks
of those that will
listen
we speak in tongue
the language poetry
some may understand
yet to others
we are just a voice
floating on clouds
we bare our souls
spit our cries
release words of fire
and words of love
yet we are
nothing less than
the writer
we write our thoughts
sign our life
in blood contracts
never giving up
that one day
our voice
will be heard
we are universal
every language spoken
speaking of
promises broken
from treaties to
words cracked with
tears and ink
on stained white pages
we are loved by many
hated by few
tortured
from within
seeking the words
to the next page
sleepless nights
with empty pens
looking for anything
a crayon a marker
even a piece of coal
just to touch paper
we are in tone
with self
able to leap
into forever
in a single bound
the release
energy strewn
across rooms on
wrinkled pages
that met their doom
yet we continue
to spit our stories
most are true
but we release them
to help guide you
some of our journeys
are sad
some are celebration
some are even erotic
but the message will
always be in our words
released from
energies from our
very soul
so listen listen
as they are told
