A Poets Poem
Poetry for some is no big deal.
It really helps with how I feel.
With every line, my thoughts take flight.
Transforming darkness into light.
Just getting words from pen to paper.
Can sometimes feel like an icebreaker.
In poetry, I find my truest voice.
A chance to feel, to dream, rejoice.
It really helps me get words out.
Without the need to scream and shout.
It helps convey the way I feel.
Those written words, can help and heal.
With written words for all to see.
Can feel like opportunity.
A chance to get things off your chest.
It can change your mood, can I digress?
Whilst sharing thoughts of self-expression.
Which really helps with self-possession.
A way of showing your affection.
It's good to have some self-reflection.
To get things down with pen and ink.
It really helps with how I think.
It helps when I reflect and ponder.
Which in turn can make the heart grow fonder.
It really helps with contemplation.
Works wonders for my concentration.
Feels almost like self meditation.
This poem is like my medication.
Expose yourself, lay yourself bare.
You see poetry, it just doesn't care.
With words, you write of fact or fiction.
Works wonders for my inhibition.
A poets poem, from pen to paper.
The poet is the sole creator.
